Abstract

Safety and health professionals would have to be living under a rock not to have some awareness of the recent mine tragedies in West Virginia and the responses of state and federal officials. It clearly has been a time for compassion and sorrow for miners, their families, and communities, and for renewed focus on mining safety and health.
